User Account - Email Notifications Request (please give feedback)

Added by John Reynolds almost 16 years ago

Hello,

I wanted to put this out in the forum and see if anyone likes the idea.

Basically our small team of (5) is having trouble dealing with the large scale of email generated by issues across projects. Indeed, the 5 of us generate about 40 or 50 a day easily. I think people would like to be notified not only about issues in their projects, but only for those issues that they are assigned.

In the user account area under "Email Notifications", I'd like to see an enhancement for the drop-down selection, "For any event on the selected projects only". It might be something like an additional check box next to each project which states "only for issues that I am assigned".

That would really help us focus in on those issues that are really ours, and it would encourage us to participate more across projects.

Thanks for the consideration. I can't even begin to explain how great this software has been for our team!

Isn't this already available? Through the "Only for things I watch or I am involved in" in the Email Notification drop-down selection box. And plus the tick-box - "Don't notify for events I generated myself".

I'm not sure what "involved in" means - does that mean assigned to?

In any case, it would be nice to control that from each individual project, not just all projects.

"involved in" means the creator or being assigned to the ticket. And if you'd like a feature - I recommend logging a ticket.

Or have made a comment to the issue (or forum thread).
