issues table split view

Would it be possible to add either a 2 column, or a horizontally split view of the issues table, with a separate filter applicable to each column ? I think this could be helpful for projects with a large number of issues / tasks.
E.g. this could allow the left column to show the current target versions issues, and the right column the rest (including backlog issues).
Also, drag and drop (of single or multiple) issues between the columns would help quick and easy replanning.
