new redmine with 2.1.2 Database

Hi everybody
I plan to install newest redmine and migrate Database from 2.1.2 Redmine. Is it possible to connect 2.1.2 database to 3.2.0 Redmine or is there any schema upgrade neccessary?
if not what is the latest version which support that database? In need to install ckeditor plugin which requiers ruby 1.9.1 for the bundler.
My installation has ruby 1.8.7.
If you have a hint how to handle this, this will also help me out.
Best way of course is to upgrade existing redmine to have higher ruby version
