software and issue tracking ideas
I recently started a new position as a Release Manager with a company that also wanted infrastructure background as well (this I have a strong background in, release management I do not).
Currently we use software from an outside vendor and the company I work for would like for me to track current support issues, when a fix will be or has been released, has the fix been tested, etc. We also use several different pieces of this supported software so we'd also like to internally track what version we're running and what works with what - a compatibility matrix if you will.
I'm looking for ideas on how best to track open tickets, issues, and maybe even something we can track our current running versions. Any ideas?
