Logging failed logins?

It seems this has not been asked before: are failed logins being logged into files? It seems there is nothing in Apache log, and nothing in production.log.

Anyone can help?

I want to integrate Redmine with Fail2ban to prevent illegal logins.

I would like to use fail2ban with redmine too. Did you find a solution?
