Redmine Atom/RSS Feeds for MS Outlook

Added by Mario Klima almost 10 years ago

Hey there!

Did someone notice that there is a nasty bug in MS Outlook 2010?

Issue
When exporting an Atom/RSS Item in Redmine (e.g. Issues) for MS Outlook the URL is http://https://redmine.tld/xyz) which isn't reachable.

Setup:
Apache Proxy (redmine.tld:443) -> Redmine Server (internal.ip:80)

Exporting RSS to Browsers (Firefox, IE) or to Thunderbird works without any problems.. I can see, that the URL is correct then (https://redmine.tld/xyz)

It seems that this is a well known Problem: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/69de39ff-7924-45d7-a48e-2c0e02beec7d/outlook-rss-ovel-ssl-problem?forum=outlook

Is there a workaround? Any MS Pros here? :)

Cheers

Hi Mario,

I didn't have the problem with a similar setup.
Did you configure correctly your:
  • Host name and path, in your case redmine.tld
  • Protocol, in your case HTTPS

These settings are in https://redmine.tld/settings , first tab

Cheers,

Hi Martin,

Thanks for your answer. Yes, I configured the Hostname & Protocol, in fact everything else is working like a charm.

Do you use MS Outlook 2010?

Thanks in advance,
Mario

Tested on redmine 1.4.? and Redmine 2.5.0 with MS Outlook 2010 from Office Professional Plus 2010.
I don't have anymore a proxy setup to test with, it seems to the proxy is somehow your problem.
FYI I tested with Passenger on Apache2.
Please share with the community if you're able to figure this one out!

Good luck,
