Changing the Issue ID

Added by S. R. almost 10 years ago

Hello,

In order to convince my colleagues to replace their old spreadsheet file to gather all the issues, I would like to use Redmine. I managed to configure it, but I would like to change the issue id numerotation to reflect what was done in their file.
The issue id should become something like YYYYMMxxxx where YYYY is the year, MM the month, and xxxx is an incremental number.

Is there a way to make this kind of template for the issue id generation ?

Thank you.

IMHO, descriptive IDs are the root of all evil and should never be used...

I don't think that's possible, and unless it serves a very distinct purpose, would only be needed for issues already present in the spreadsheet anyway: Redmine keeps track of the issue creation date.

Perhaps you could add a column with redmine ticket IDs to the spreadsheet, so that the mapping of spreadsheet-tickets to redmine tickets would easily be possibe?
