Create a static link in the user profile

Using latest redmine 2.5.

I would like to have a static link on each user profile page.

I've tried adding a new custom field of the type "Link" but I can't make it work.
The field value will always be empty, as the value will not be part of the link.
And when the field is empty, the link is not shown.

Setting default value and checking "required" does not make any difference.

Is this possible

Actually, I need this for projects too. Is it possible?

For pojects it is possible via sidebar plugin:
http://projects.andriylesyuk.com/projects/sidebar-content

or you could add it inside Overview.

Thank you for the answer.

It's not really what I'm looking for, as I need to be able to use id in the URL as a placeholder for either user-id or project-id.
