Need a guide on installing Redmine 2.5.2 on Debian Wheezy - Fresh Install on a new Virtual server
Added by Hans Saestad over 9 years ago
Hi There,
Having lots of issues trying to get Redmine istalled onto a new Debian Wheezy server.
I have followed over 12 different guides with no success.
Can someone please post a decent step by step installation process of installing the latest Redmine version (2.5.2) on a clean debian virtual server?
We have a public IP linked to this server which we have a url linked to for external access. eg "mydomain.com/redmine"
I have a farely good grasp on Linux now after trying all the methods. Had version 1.4 on a old server running Ruby, Apache 2 and sqlite.
Would prefer using Mysql, Apache2 and whatever ruby rails the forum suggests. All the guides which had Gem Bundle included caused major issues everytime.
Please if there is a simple easy way to install this from scratch.. I would appreciate a step by step guide that works.
Thanks

There's this guide not using RVM or this one using RVM
There are lots of others around, just use the search function or google :-)

May be have a look at this pos:

Although there are a lot of guides in the wild, it depends on which SCM you want to run. I found some very basic steps/prerequisites easily being messed up and summarized them in my post (see up).
Cheers
