How to restore redmine 2.6.x backup on a new server? (with 3.0.x)

Hi all,

I recently backuped my redmine data from a 2.6.x installation (via mysqldump as well as phpmyadmin). Now I would like to restore this backup on a new machine with a redmine 3.0.x installation. What's the best way to go about this? I assume the database layout has changed a bit?

If necessary, I guess I could first install 2.6.x on the new server, and then upgrade that to 3.0.x? It runs redmine via docker. Is there a direct way?

Cool, I'll try that one, thanks. I actually wasn't able to find this guide - I googled and ended up on a page on redmine.org from 2007 or so :-)
