Migrate from 0.8 to Latest Version of Redmine

Added by Ben Castan about 6 years ago

The sad story is that I have inherited a Redmine instance that is running 0.8 and I would like to migrate this to the Latest version of Redmine, currently 3.4.4.
I have been reading furiously and I am mostly convinced that I will need to do this in steps, i.e. 0.8 to 0.9 to 1.X to 2.X to 3.x.
I am wondering if anyone else has faced this dilemma?

It would be lovely to be able to do this in one hop but I doubt it will work.

On the posivie side there are no plugins to deal with.
DB is postgres, I have that side of the migration covered.

I have not included environment details as I really don't think they will shed any more info.

So my basic questions are:
1) Has anyone been unfortunate enough to have to migrate from such an early version to the latest 3.4 version? and if so any hints, tips, gotchas that can be provided would be appreciated.
2) Is it possible to just go from 0.8 to 3.4 in a single jump?

Thanks in advance for any advice that can be provided.
