Is there a way to share the Repository across projects ?

We have one repository for our code but we have several projects that all may refer to the same code.
We attached the repository to the main project. IS there a way to refer the revisions from issues that belong to the other projects when we use comments such as r3245 for revisions number?
We try to avoid associating the same repository multiple times.
can this be done suing sub projects?
