Redmine plugin Jenkins

Hello fellow Redmine users
I am having a problem with understanding how the jenkins app really works.
I have ubuntu 14.04 lts installed on my server and I have the git plugin working in gitolite.
Now I want to integrate Jenkins in this as well, so when I build a project and it gives errors there will be a ISSUE in Redmine.
I don't know how the integration of users works?
