Some ideas about redmine-status-updates plugin

Added by Chaoqun Zou over 8 years ago

Hi, Eric and Brian

I have seen the redmine status updates on github and http://www.redmine.org/boards/1/topics/1483
I think it is a very interesting plugin.

I have some ideas about it:
  • Add a whole site's status update page to show all status of user's project, because many users are working on multiple projects
  • Make the status page to be self-update page using ajax (Is it now self-update? For I haven't installed it yet...)

I've added this recently to my fork. There is now a link on the top menu to look at all the status updates across all the projects.

  • Make the status page to be self-update page using ajax (Is it now self-update? For I haven't installed it yet...)

That would be a good idea.

Dont know if this is possible - how about adding a twitter compatible api, so folks could add updates using a twitter client...

Or maybe extend the redmine_messenger plugin to allow updates from there..

It would be very useful also to have a WS interface to update status.

Here's why.
Having such interface, each time I switch to a task from Eclipse, for example, using Mylyn and Redmine Connector Plugin (with one simple extension) my status might be updated automatically.

I will switch my effort to a certain task, and the whole team, through Redmine, will be up-to-date on what I'm going to do right now without the need for me to manually update the status (it will be sufficient to switch Mylyn task).

Wouldn't be it cool?
