There are two interim solutions

1) you can create custom fields into names
2) you can type in first+second (patronymic) into the 'firstname' field. Case in point: I did that with my second name.

Typically proper international name handling quickly becomes a mess. Here is a post on Dutch names:
http://www.sugarcrm.com/forums/showthread.php?t=54017
Another on multi part first/last name combinations
http://blogs.msdn.com/michkap/archive/2008/08/08/8842654.aspx
A different listing of name/title issues (again, with explanations for handling for Van/Von and Arabic Al-)
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Bibliographic/OOoBib_Functional_Requirements/Name_Sorting

Hi, Adam (I hope this is your first name, right? ;)

1) you can create custom fields into names

In this case this field will be after "Language" – not good.

2) you can type in first+second (patronymic) into the 'firstname' field. Case in point: I did that with my second name.

That's what I'm doing now, but it leads to a unnatural name format.

Yeah… Maybe I will create a plugin for my situation…
Redmine - Feature #4230: Add support for patronymics / middle names.https://www.redmine.org/issues/4230?journal_id=121862009-11-19T05:52:08ZAdam Piotr Żochowski

Head to Administration -> Settings -> General -> User display format. There you should be able to setup how the combination of firstname/lastname should be displayed. Maybe this way you can tweak it to display it more naturally?

Kind regards
