Redmine Redmine - Defect #23660 (New): Email notification on description change without activity view entryhttps://www.redmine.org/issues/236602016-08-25T07:27:06ZJW Fuchs

When an issue description is changed, this is not logged in the activity view (as described in RedmineProjectActivity). An email notification of the change is sent though.

There should either be both an activity entry & email (preferred) or neither. Having only seems very confusing.

Also see #13314.
Redmine - Defect #23643 (New): Activity page shows news description instead of summaryhttps://www.redmine.org/issues/236432016-08-23T12:33:05ZJW Fuchs

It seems unintuitive that the summary of a news entry is only used in a project's overview and not also for the activity page.

Test news item:

This is shown on the overview page:

This is shown on the activity page:

The activity page should also display the news summary.
Redmine - Feature #23634 (New): Restrict permissions for anonymous rolehttps://www.redmine.org/issues/236342016-08-22T13:48:16ZJW Fuchs

Even when all permissions for the anonymous role are deactivated, without login in users can still see

the project list

public project members

activity in public projects

news in public projects

It would be a useful feature to be able to disable all access for anonymous users, i.e. include additional options "view public project list", "view activity" and "view news" in the roles/permissions configuration.

The current setting leads to some display sideeffects. Links to issues and versions in news items aren't displayed properly, but rather their sourcecode:

View for any logged-in user:

View for anonymous:

Redmine - Feature #23616 (New): wiki-attached image inline in issuehttps://www.redmine.org/issues/236162016-08-19T09:27:41ZJW Fuchs

Suppose I have uploaded an image to a wiki page in the same project (or elsewhere in the redmine entity).

Now I would like to display the image inline in an issue, similar to
!image.png!

Currently this does not seem possible, see #543#note-3 and http://www.redmine.org/projects/redmine/wiki/RedmineTextFormattingTextile#Links

This is a defect, as currently the only workaround is to upload the image again, resulting in unnecessary duplication and consistency problems.

Could a solution be to use a macro similar to
{{include(wiki-name)}}
?
Redmine - Defect #23596 (Closed): Filter on issue ID with between/lesser/greater operator does no...https://www.redmine.org/issues/235962016-08-16T13:14:34ZJW Fuchs

Version 3.3.0 introduced the feature to filter by issues by id, including range, see #4806.

This feature does not work correctly. When a range should be displayed, only a single issue is returned.

Several issues exist in test database:

Query result should show IDs 5 to 10:

Query result should show IDs 6 to 8:

The Status names are all longer than the default english text. This causes text overlap in the issue export to PDF:

We have an even longer status name "Gelöst/Ausgeliefert" (19 characters), therefore the displayed status and date for related issues should be moved separated by at least another 10-15 characters.
Redmine - Defect #23575 (Closed): Issue subjects are truncated at 60 characters on activity pagehttps://www.redmine.org/issues/235752016-08-12T08:39:31ZJW Fuchs

While the 60 character limitation has been removed elsewhere (see #18659, #19970), the issue still persists in several places, including the activity page:

Redmine - Defect #23574 (Closed): Issue subjects are truncated at 60 characters on my pagehttps://www.redmine.org/issues/235742016-08-12T08:38:27ZJW Fuchs

While the 60 character limitation has been removed elsewhere (see #18659, #19970), the issue still persists in several places, including "My Page":

As discussed in #4285, a cancel button while creating or editing an item is very useful. It should allow the user to return to the previous page.

While this was implemented for wiki pages, it currently does not apply to the "+" function in Redmine 3.3, see Screenshot:

The button should be available for any item, i.e.

On "My Page" both widgets "Watched issues" and "Issues assigned to me" show only open issues. "Reported issues" shows issues with any status. I believe all three widgets should filte open issues only.
Redmine - Defect #23394 (New): Auto-assign on category selection does not work when assignee is a...https://www.redmine.org/issues/233942016-07-21T11:08:19ZJW Fuchs

When the assignee is set as a mandatory field, the auto-assign function related to category does not work.

Redmine - Patch #23388 (Closed): German translation changehttps://www.redmine.org/issues/233882016-07-20T08:55:16ZJW Fuchs

Added several missing translations, fixed typos and changed the translation of repository "Projektarchiv", which led to significant confusion in relation to archives.
Redmine - Feature #23349 (New): Force comment on status changehttps://www.redmine.org/issues/233492016-07-15T13:20:05ZJW Fuchs

When an issue or feature request has its status changed, especially to status "rejected", comments are very helpful but are often omitted. Could it be implemented, so that a status change requires the comment field to be filled?
Redmine - Feature #23316 (New): Quote issue description selectionhttps://www.redmine.org/issues/233162016-07-13T10:00:06ZJW Fuchs

Currently when you wish to include only parts of an issue description as a quote in a comment, you have two options:
a) use the quote button for the issue description and delete all unnecessary description from the quote
b) manually highlight parts of the issue description, add a new comment and copy+paste the hightlighted parts

Both options have their obvious disadvantages:
a) especially with lengthy issue descriptions it can be tedious work to manually delete text in the small comment edit text field
b) all formatting is lost, table formats and similar cannot be copied

A great improvement would be the possibility to highlight a paragraph/section/table, etc. in an issue description, click quote, and have only this content quoted in the comment edit field, preversing all formatting (colors, hyperlinks, tables, etc.)
