I've attached a small patch that implements this.
Redmine - Feature #23137: Completed versions on Roadmap: Sort it so that recently created versions are on tophttps://www.redmine.org/issues/23137?journal_id=736842016-09-21T11:50:44ZRobert Schneider

Wow, such a little change is required. Thank you, Marius!

Could it be considered to insert into Redmine? Doesn't need a test, IMO.
Redmine - Feature #23137: Completed versions on Roadmap: Sort it so that recently created versions are on tophttps://www.redmine.org/issues/23137?journal_id=736992016-09-22T05:47:27ZToshi MARUYAMA

Agreed that this can be a helpful addition to the roadmap. However, the change in sorting order should not be hardcoded, but rather be presented as an option to the user in the roadmap.
Redmine - Feature #23137: Completed versions on Roadmap: Sort it so that recently created versions are on tophttps://www.redmine.org/issues/23137?journal_id=742752016-10-30T10:50:14ZTobias Fischer

This would be also very useful for custom fields with version model. E.g. for an "Affected version" custom field.
Redmine - Feature #23137: Completed versions on Roadmap: Sort it so that recently created versions are on tophttps://www.redmine.org/issues/23137?journal_id=742762016-10-30T16:18:04ZMarius BÄ‚LTEANU

This feature request changes only the order in which the versions are displayed in the sidebar (attached a print screen). Regarding your request, I think that it should be filled in a new issue.
Redmine - Feature #23137: Completed versions on Roadmap: Sort it so that recently created versions are on tophttps://www.redmine.org/issues/23137?journal_id=751212016-12-18T08:35:19ZJean-Philippe Langjp_lang@yahoo.fr
