about notifications..

Hi everybody!
I'm playing around with this GREAT TOOL for a while and I've some considerations about notifications.
If a developer right-click on an issue row and set %DONE to 60 (or whatever else..) in the contextual menu, an email notification is sent by Redmine to that issue author and watchers. Next, in the same contextual menu, if that developer set the STATUS to FEEDBACK (or whatever else..) another email is sent to author and watchers. Multiply this process for 5 developers and a regular daily issues activity flow and you obtain many many emails notifications. Not to mention if a developer wrongly change a STATUS issue (they're humans :) and then ri-set it to the right STATUS.
Have you ever faced this kind of "issue" ? How did you manage it?
