Redmine

There are several open issues related to this topic. None of them are in 1.3.0 or the lists for planned / unplanned features.e.g. #5794, URL custom fields. Which has several duplicates and related to links and +1 comments.

I think that having this feature would greatly improve Redmine's connectivity to the other tools used in the development tool chain.

e.g. a custom field of 'code review' which is of type URL and has a template of "http://<review URL>/go?page=ReviewDisplay&reviewid=%d". When added to an issue I could add just the review number, e.g. 123, and have a direct link from an issue to the code review for that issue.

With the recent nice work in the area of custom fields to support a user type a version type creating a URL type with support for templates would be great.
