3 annoying things with Redmine 1.2

Added by Celerity Abbott almost 12 years ago

Hi everyone,

My company is using Redmine 1.2 for project management and issue tracking for many things. I found 3 things that are very annoying and difficult to use Redmine by folks who are more used to emails. These are:

1). All the emails sent by Redmine with the reply to: set to the system email address for every post.
-- Can email notification be preconfigured to have the member 's email address as the reply: to field, who submits the post?

2). All posts need to be entered into Redmine by logging in.
-- Can the recipient who receives the email notification simply reply to the email to add a new post, as the email already has enough information about the ticket?

3). All the new tasks need to be created by logging in.
-- Can a member send an email with proper task / ticket information so that Redmine can create a task with the email body as the description part of the content?

Again, I am using Redmine 1.2, with no plug-ins or customization. Are there a newer version of Redmine or some any plugins that would shortcut these deficiencies?

Please help!

No, but the answers to the other questions will help.

2). All posts need to be entered into Redmine by logging in.

See this wiki article:

RedmineReceivingEmails

You can reply to tickets via e-mail, and you can create new tickets via e-mail. :)
