How to Increase Project Name Max length

Hi

Does anyone know how I can increase the max length of the name field for new projects? It is limited to 30 characters which is way too short.

Any ideas?

Ok. I found these patches: http://www.redmine.org/issues/1893 but can anyone tell me what it might break if I increase the length?

Could you please give me some guides how to raise project-name length-limit from 30 to 60 characters by writing a plugin instead of a patch file?
