Update from 0.8.7 to 0.9.2 (passenger) missing gems

Added by Vincent Weber about 14 years ago

Hi,

I try to update from 0.8.7 to 0.9.2.
I use Redmine with Passenger for Apache on a Debian server.

When I try to use "rake db:migrate RAILS_ENV=production", it tell me "Could not find RubyGem rack"
So I install rack 1.0.1.

After it tell me Could not find RubyGem test-spec, and camping, and fcgi etc

Have you any idea about this problem ?

And if you have any recent howto for Redmine (0.9.2) with passenger, I am interested !

PS : sorry for my bad english language.

We have the same problem here. In the installation, it is falsely stated that openid packages are not required, but this is not true. Some components needed that. Also rake-compiler needs newer gems than available on Debian! There is absolutely a need to take care about the older systems as well, and not to use the latest-greatest versions of everything. It's quite pain to get the software up and running because I have to bother my admin quite a lot...

We are having same problem with fastcgi. Redmine seems not to be able to ruin on Debian 5.

You can use the sources for rubygems instead of the package.
With sources you have the last version, and it works.
