Right click menu to bulk edit doesn't appear every time

Added by Nicolas Marriere over 11 years ago

Hello,

sometimes, when I try to bulk edit displayed issues, by right clicking on them, the contextual menu to edit them doesn't appear.

Are there any rules on selected issues that could explain why the contextual menu doesn't appear every times (ex : they must share same tracker) ?

Thank you for your support.

I'm on 2.2.1 and it works with IE8, I just tested it.
BTW, isn't FF12 quite old?

Hello Jan,

thank you for your reply.

I have a limited use of firefox so that's why it is not well upgraded. Nevertheless, I tried also with Chrome and I faced the same behavior: contextual menu appears shortly through a loading indicator & then it disappears without the possibility to bulk edit my selected issues.

So I decided to migrate to IE9 & in // we finalized the Redmine installation by replacing webrick by Apache .... and now bulk edit menu appears (& works) !

This problem can be considered as solved.

Hello,

FYI some complementary information about this problem & its solution:

I observed a limit on the number of issues that can be updated in the same transaction/time (~ 340 issues with Ids between 4 & 5 digits) when using Redmine bulk edit functionality.

It seems to be due to an Apache internal settings that defines a limit size for uri to 8 Kb. Beyond this limit, Apache considers it is facing a DoS attack & reject the request.

So when I tried to update more than ~340 issues with ids between 4 & 5 digits, I reached this Apache limit.

To solve this problem, I decided to use the Rest API of Redmine and it works fine.
