Files up to 5 GB

Is it possible to allow uploads of files up to 5 GB or higher?
I have a requirement to be able to distribute zip files that range from 200M to 4.9GB.
In settings, I've upped the size to 5GB, or 5242880 KB.
However when I try to upload files that are up to 2GB, it does the upload but then the progress bar eventually just says "Server Error" or something like that.
Is there a limitation on the file size that can be uploaded?
It does say: (Maximum size: 5 GB)
next to the Browse button.
