Idea for google calendar integration plugin

A very useful feature for people or business who uses the google calendar (from google for you domain) and redmine would be a google calendar integration using google calendar data api.

The login information and which calendar redmine should write to may be stored on each user on custom fields.

The "Due date", "Subject" and the "Assignee" fields from each task could be used to create the calendar event.

Custom fields could be created to indicate which redmine task should be created as an calendar event (a checkbox maybe). Details like reminders could be left to be adjusted on google page itself.

I don't took the time to study the redmine plugin system, ruby on rails or even the google calendar api, yet.

So, this is doable as a plugin? It would worth the learning curve?

looking through thousands of tasks in todo list of this great, but already stagnant software, the google calendar integration would be probably the greatest feature, pointing out redmine high above other similar software.
