For maintenance tasks I would like to switch to s.th. like a silent mode where any changes won't trigger mail notifications.
Would also work for fine for me if I had to login as another "Admin" user who works silently all the time.

Reading this sounds promising : "Especially useful for silent mass-updates when you don't want to spam all the project participants with your minor update."
But how to set silent mode for bulk operations? I only could find the checkmark when updating a single ticket.
