how to mark up / format Text without spaces?

Added by blub blabber over 12 years ago

i have problem on formatting text (bold etc.) within words or in general without using space. i no that this is a textile feature, but i googled around and found that '[' ']' should wor in those cases ( [-U-]nderline only 'U' ) but i doesn't work in Textile.
So how to do those things in redmine?

the same problem i got with other things like '--' they also doesn't work in redmine?!

So what are the exact differences between general Textile-Symntax and Redmine (how to do it in Redmine?).

thx in advance

I also don't have a solution to remove the space around formatting signs in redmine.
But in order to get all textile syntax in redmine you may see here how to patch redmine to do it: https://dest.de/redmine/projects/common/wiki/Formatting#Tipps38Tricks
With this you get nearly all textile syntax working as described in http://redcloth.org/hobix.com/textile (except: html code)
including: css code, colors of text and background-color, margins, borders, free positioning of paragraphs or pictures on a page, positioning and formatting of whole tables, superscript, subscript, html-characters (like ” ).

@redmine-programmers: Isn't this proposal safe? You can only insert css code (not html). So why not implement it as feature or plugin?
In doubt you may limit this full textile to only those redmine installations (or projects) with no anonymous writable content or with no self registrations of new users. It was a great tool for formatting my redmine site http://dest.de
