Redmine

Is there a way to migrate/add files to the redmine files section without having to manually upload them? Some kind of script or a tooling of some sort that allows automatic import of files that are put into defined directory (i.e. if you put files into redmine_dir/files_to_import/project_name</version>/and execute option from acp/cli it would copy and rename files and add them to the db)?

Background:
we have a download section on our website, we want to move it to redmine (easier to manage, split by project/version, etc). the problem is that those files are already on the server and transferring it back and forth would be tiresome
