Install Redmine with Wampserver Windowws 7

Added by Philippe Bessière about 10 years ago

Hello

I want to install Redmine to test it.

Previously I use Wampserver 2.4 (Apache 2.4.4, mysql5.4.16, php 5.6.12) for my websites in my computer (Windows 7)

Is it possible to install and use Redmine with Wampserver (it is not useful to have 2 Apache, mysql, php on my computer) ? And how ?

Thanks

Phil

Hello Philippe,

Save yourself a lot of trouble and make a VM, you can easily find installation instructions. You can also use a turnkey VM or even have a pre-installed VPS for 5USD a month.

Cheer,

Hello Martin

Thanks for responding.

If I use turn VM, I'll not 2 servers on my Windows 7 ?

Is turn VM OK with Windows 7 ?

How install it ? Where I find file ?

Sorry, but I'm not a developer but a project manager.

Thanks

Phil

Philippe,

It seems you have no experience with Virtual Machines and you seem to be a Windows person.
I think you should go for the Bitnami installer for Windows
Note that you should shutdown your WAMP before installing it to free port 80.

Alternatively, you could use a pre-installed VPS (serveur virtuel dedié). I know of:

I worked with Digital Ocean and I'm happy with their 5USD/month plan, it could worth if it saves you time and trouble.

You can email me at if you need extra support in French.
