authorize_global documentation

Does anybody have any documented (or even undocumented) examples of how to use authorize_global in tandem with authorize_for to set up permissions on plugins outside of a project?

Well i ended up getting what I needed accomplished, basing things off of the permissions model used in this blog plugin:
