Hyperlinks attributes disappear on rendered page

Hi.
I noticed that hyperlinks having "target" attribute set (and any attribute), when rendering the content the attribute is removed.
I am using CKEditor and i checked even the database. The attribute is there.
Why is it removed when the content is rendered?
