Groups - Different Roles

We are using Redmine as a project management tool, we have created a group in project,but whole group is having same role,we need different roles like team lead and developer for a group in project . how can we do this ? is there any possibility...

Note : one member should be team lead in group and all the remaining should have developer role. so that whenever task assigned to that group,team lead shall assign to the concerned person .

The easiest way is to assign the role of team lead directly to the specific user in that project and assign the role developer to the grup (as you have already done).
When a user has two roles in the same project it always prevail the most permissive (so the team lead would be able to do what it needs in addition of the developer role)

But we have only three roles by default right ? i.e. developer,reporter,manager. For suppose if i have three different teams like software,hardware,firmware. for each team,Team Lead should be there and all other would be developer lets say, whenever task assigned to them the Team Lead should informed and then the Team Lead will assign that particular ticket to their team members. Is there a way to design like this?

Hi Santosh Prakash, that's the way it works

  • Project Hardware
    • Leader (role manager assigned to user xxxx)
    • Devs (role developer assigned to group hardware_devs)
  • Project Software
    • Leader (role manager assigned to user yyy)
    • Devs (role developer assigned to group software_devs)
