Git page hrows 404

I just upgraded from Redmine 1.0 to 1.2 and some of my Git repositories aren't showing up anymore. Instead, I'm just getting a 404 with "The entry or revision was not found in the repository."
Although I have Autofetch enabled, I tried running ruby script/runner Repository.fetch_changesets -e production. This did spawn Git processes for the repositories, but the actual repository pages still show that error. Deleting and re-adding the repository configuration didn't help either.
The problematic repositories are all on an NFS mount, but this hasn't posed any problems before. I can run sudo -u apache git log and whatnot, so permissions aren't the problem.
The "The entry or revision was not found in the repository" message is very generic, so if anyone can help me trace this error, I'd be very grateful.
Never mind. I chown -R apache'd my Redmine installation, which probably made some crucial files writable or something. More descriptive error messages would be nice though.
