Users unable to Update issues using IE8

Following a recent upgrade to 2.1.2 I am getting reports that some users are not able to edit issues when they are using IE8.

The problem appears to be that the screen does not finish rendering due to a HTML Parsing failure (see screenshot).

This can't be an isolated issue but I'm not finding much via Google so I'm hoping someone in here has encountered this before and has a solution for me.

Guess it's related to #12195 which has been fixed with 2.1.3, you should consider upgrading to latest minor 2.1 release.

I'd never have found that based on our error message and the issue detail.

I'll try manually updating the js file tomorrow and see if it sorts out or issue.

Note there's another one about IE8 fixed with 2.1.4: #12298.

#12195 didn't help my issue - in fact it caused IE7 to crash (Operation Aborted error). #12298 is a different issue altogether so I'll not go poking around on that one.

I know that browser compatibility is a real pain but this is frustrating. I'm currently working in the NHS and they are using IE6/7/8 so the pain is just compounded.
