Redmine

Hello,

I am quite new to Redmine and need some help.

I am using Redmine from Bitnami:

Environment:
Redmine version 3.1.0.stable
Ruby version 2.0.0-p645 (2015-04-13) [x86_64-linux]
Rails version 4.2.3
Environment production
Database adapter Mysql2
SCM:
Subversion 1.8.13
Git 1.9.5
Filesystem
Redmine plugins:
no plugin installed

I fetch IMAP emails by a cron job. New users are automatically created in Redmine, but not associated with a project and a role in that project (I use only one project).
I found https://www.redmine.org/issues/1945, but I do not know how to implement this and if this is still the way to achieve my goal in redmine 3.1.0

So any help is appreciated.
