Redmine not reachable from other networks

I'm running my Redmine on a server with the IP (example) 169.168.178.20. When I'm in the same network I can just type the IP Redmine landing page is showing up.
Now I set up a reverse proxy pointing sub.domain.com to the IP of the server. But if I try the URL I only get the Apache default page. What else do I have to change so it'll work?
