How do I test a new installation?

As subject: I have a new Redmine installation, but I have no idea how to test it, and no knowledge of Redmine.

Is there a test document? Or maybe someone could recommend a website/etc with an introduction to Redmine that will let me check things like VCS integration, images, and so on?
