Redmine

Hi redmine community!

I recently forked the https://github.com/alphanodes/redmine_messenger repo here: https://github.com/smartorigin/redmine_messenger
As the original repo was archived in September 2025.

This fork adds a few features, fixes some bugs, and remove connectors to proprietary alphanodes modules.

I'd like to publish it the redmine plugins directory. However, as of now, the plugin has the same name as the original one. This prevents me from publishing it. Of course i could rename it, but before doing so I'd like your advice on this, and to know whether it's possible to remove / archive the original version from redmine plugins directory (not to hide it, but simply because it is not maintained anymore).

The new plugin explicitly shows it is forked from alphanodes' one, which was a very nice work!
