I have found the problem, it lies in git itself:
By default git will set permissions to whatever is given by 'umas... angelsl .

I just realised it is the same problem as http://www.redmine.org/boards/2/topics/12960.
I am also hosting using gi... angelsl .

Immediately after a Git Push, Redmine fails to show the repository tree (clicking on the repository tab).
It fails... angelsl .
