Redmine license GPL v3??

Hi everybody!!

I am evaluating redmine at the moment. We are planning to extend it with some new functionality under GPL v3.
In this Webpage, its stated that Redmine is released under the terms of the "GNU General Public License v2".
I would like to share some questions with you:

Is it somehow planned an upgrade from GPL v2 to GPL v3 in future releases?
Wich of the GPL v2 descriptions given by GNU match better Redmine: "under GPL v2 or later" or "under GPL v2 only"?

source:/trunk/doc/COPYING states redmine is GPLv2, and I am not aware of any plans to switch it to GPLv3. If you think it should, please open a feature request and explain your rationale, I will then try to bring it up on the next lead meeting.
