Should I switch to Markdown?

Hi there,

I have just setup a Redmine instance and created some textile based wiki pages. It is not like the MediaWiki, of course, but it is okay so far. Now I realized that Redmine also supports Markdown. Although it is declared as experimantal it seems that it works. At least there are not many bug reports about Markdown.

Question for me is now if I should switch to Markdown. Currenlty, there are only a few wiki pages that I would need to convert. Should I do this? What are the pros and cons about these markup languages? Will Textile get depracted anytime and fully replaced by Markdown?
