Redmine / Ruby performance issue

Hi, I installed Redmine (Bitnami Stack) on P4 2GHz, Kubuntu Linux. I have performance issues.
Any activity on Redmine webpage (remotelly accessed from a web browser running on a computer located just next to the Redmine server) creates a 100% CPU usage on the redmine server.
The process that takes so much resources is .ruby.bin
100% CPU usage takes only a second, but it happens every time someone click a link on the Redmine webpage.
Redmine is is just very slow and with a few users accesing it at the same Redmine is too slow.
Is it normal or is there something I could do about it?
