Source Control

Added by Steve Hayhurst about 14 years ago

Customer is using Redmine for several projects, but it is kinda a "Wild West" approach (each team is using it differently and no real standards or documentation exists).

As the newly minted technical writer on my particular project who is just starting with Redmine, I want to add some protection to the revisions I create in FrameMaker in the form of content management instead of anyone with Author skills being able to edit/delete the content at will.

Can anyone point me at a short and dirty solution (or if there is none) to integrate CMS or even versioning that will work with Redmine?

Thanks

Not sure what you are trying to get at (and I don't know Frame Maker for example), but you could either write your docu in the wiki and protect the pages, that would give you history and edit protection, or put the docu in the SCM, gives you at least versioning, or create a new subproject with an SCM for the docu, that gives you the highest flexibility to achieve whatever requirements you want/have to enforce.
