is it possible automaticly setting task assigment to a user according to his role in project ?

For example: we have a small team: developer, tester, manager.

My workflow allow the Manager creating a task and set "for developer" state, the Developer solving tasks (and set "for testing") and the Tester set task as "for developer" state or close the task.

At this time, all users (roles) must set new state of task and also select a next user who work on the task (time consouming, when tester play "bug-ping-pong" with developer). And my question is - is it possible assing the task to user who is on turn automatically according new state ? Or other hand, is it possible set new state according to new user whos assigned ?
