Redmine 0.9.3 + Plesk 9.0.1 + CentOS 5.4

Added by Christian Heine about 14 years ago

Hello,

I have a dedicated server managed with Plesk. I installed Redmine 0.9.3 and when I launch it with Webrick works perfectly, the problem is that I followed the instructions from Plesk Help to launch working with FastCgi, but not works, I get the following error:

Application Error
Rails application failed to start Properly

I have hours and days looking for solutions, but I did not do so.

I would appreciate some help.

Thanks and greetings!

Christian, I advise to use passenger rather than fcgi for rails setups with apache. it is much more stable, performant and mature. to set up redmine on centos with apache and passenger, try this howto http://blog.itsmine.co.uk/2009/01/22/howto-install-subversion-and-redmine-on-centos5-rhel5/ (i just did a quick google search and haven't tried this paricular howto, but i've read it and it looks solid, you should give it a try.)

and a shameless plug: if you'd rather start using redmine right away and don't want to bother setting it up and maintaining it on your own server, check out planio redmine hosting. Planio is a turnkey redmine solution that comes complete with svn and git repositories, time tracking, invoicing (via third party app), an advanced email dropbox and a couple more extras. (disclosure: I work for Planio)
