TLS support for LDAP

Added by Alexandros Karypidis over 13 years ago

Hi,

I'm trying to integrate Redmine 1.0.3 with our openLDAP server.

Our server requires the use of encrypted communication. However, it only supports TLS (not LDAPS). Unfortunately, TLS seems to not be supported by Redmine (the "Administration-->LDAP Authentication" screen has a checkbox to enable LDAPS, but no option to use TLS).

As a result, even though when I click "Test" on the "Authentication Modes" screen the server is reported as "Successful connection.", when I try to actually log in using an LDAP user authentication fails.

Can anyone verify that indeed TLS is not supported in Redmine? (in which case, is there any plan to support TLS+LDAP? it seems that TLS is becoming more and more favorable to LDAPS).

Otherwise, what I am I missing?

My OpenLDAP server has the following security directive:

security ssf=112 update_ssf=112
