Redmine

Hello, I'm new to redmine and I'd like some advice about how to manage 'Repository' access.
I've set up two projects, one using SVN another using CVS. Well, when someone of the team try to enter in the 'Repository' tab,
the server gets stopped until it retrieves all the repository changes, so anybody can't do anything within redmine.

How do you manage this situations in your day to day work?. How do you configure your roles if it can help to solve that situation?
