Are unassigned Redmine tickets monitored?

Added by James Robertson over 15 years ago

I have made several feature requests and voted (ie. commented) on several requests by others, which have had no progress (or even comment from Redmine developer as far as I can see) for many months.

Does anyone monitor comments/updates to tickets that are not assigned to anyone?

That's the nature of open source development: If you don't do it yourself there's no guarantee anyone will do it. That being said, you have a number of options.

  • Implement the feature requests yourself and provide them either as patches or plugins (requires the ability to program).
  • Hire a developer to do the programming for you (requires money).
  • Wait and hope someone will implement that feature independent of your desire (requires patience).

Hi Brad. Thanks for the response. Yup, I understand your points.

I'm not complaining here, just asking the question, "Does anyone [from the Redmine development pool] monitor comments/updates to tickets that are not assigned to anyone?"

I do but I've been busy recently (Brad's point number 2) so I've had a backlog of mail to get through. Is there a specific issue you are looking for updates on?

Hi Eric

Thanks for your response. That's good to know.

I'm not trying to circumvent the system ... but since you ask :-) here are the issues I am particularly interested in:

#482 default assignment setting
#3110 Filter on date range (eg. Created and Updated fields)
#2995 403 error thrown when trying to access an issue within an Archived project
#706 Users could have multiple roles
and Forum topic "Voting on tickets?" (http://www.redmine.org/boards/1/topics/5552)

Cheers
James

Likewise, I have a bunch of uncontested patches that are ready to be applied to the core.

  • #3086: Links projects and users in issue lists
  • #3085: Links projects in simple issue lists
  • #2685: Displays a warning when commenting on a closed issue

James Robertson and Brad Beattie:

Thanks, I've commented on a few of the issues and assigned a few of the smaller ones to myself.
