Separate DB server for Redmine 4.1

Added by DA PON 3 months ago

Dear team,

I would like to ask how to separate Redmine and database in the different servers?
I used to install Redmine and database in the same server, but now I would like to separate them.
Please help to support it.

Thanks,

In short, export your database from your current local database server and import on the new remote system. Then, update your local configuration (e.g., /opt/redmine/config/database.yml) to reference the new system.

This will require setting up remote database server username, password, permissions, opening required ports (with access limited to just the IPs of systems that require remote access) and configuring one or more backup jobs for the database.

Dear Deoren Moor,

Thanks very much for your support. I would like to tell you about my purpose is I wanted to upgrade Redmine from 2.5.2 to 4.1.0. Last time I keep Redmine and database in the same server, and now I wanted to separate it.

I have less experience in this service. Please help to provide me the best practice to install this service.

Thanks,
