Taskloc — Android time tracking for Redmine (self-hosted, 4.x+), with optional GPS
Added by Vladimir B 2 days ago
Hi everyone! I'm the developer of Taskloc, an Android app for tracking time on issues from existing trackers, including self-hosted Redmine.
The workflow: connect your Redmine (URL + login/password), pick an issue, start a timer on the phone, stop it — the time entry appears in Redmine. GPS routes are optional; the timer works without location.
Things to know before trying:
- Redmine 4.x+, REST API enabled, "Time tracking" module enabled in the project.
- Taskloc has a server side: it validates your credentials against your Redmine at sign-in but does not store them — login and password stay on your phone. Your Redmine must be reachable from the internet.
- Free for a single user; team features are paid (14-day trial). Not open source.
- Available in RuStore (https://www.rustore.ru/catalog/app/com.taskloc.app) and Huawei AppGallery (https://appgallery.huawei.com/app/C119104661); not on Google Play yet. Direct APK with SHA-256: https://taskloc.com/download — Play Protect may warn on sideload.
Connector docs: https://taskloc.com/en/docs/connectors/redmine
I'm especially interested in feedback from people who use Redmine away from their desks: service engineers, technicians, anyone on customer sites. If you try it: was connecting your Redmine clear, could you find the right issue, and what made logging time inconvenient?
Please include your Redmine version if something fails. I'll be here to answer questions.
